What is JSON Formatter and Validator?
JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a text format for data that almost every programming language and web service can read. It is easy for computers to process but hard to read when it is all on one line.
A formatter adds indentation so you can read it, and a validator tells you when it is broken.
What this tool does
Checks that your JSON is valid and rewrites it indented with 2 or 4 spaces, or squeezed into one line. If the JSON is broken, it shows the error message.
How to use it
- Paste your JSON.
- Choose 2 spaces, 4 spaces or Minify.
- Copy the formatted JSON, or read the error to find the mistake.
Did you know?
- JSON keys and text values must use double quotes, and trailing commas and comments are not allowed.
- JSON was popularized in the early 2000s by Douglas Crockford.
