What is Unix Timestamp Converter?
A Unix timestamp counts the seconds since 1 January 1970 at 00:00 UTC, a moment called the Unix epoch. Computers use it because a single number is easy to store, compare and sort.
What this tool does
Converts a timestamp to a date in UTC, in ISO 8601 and in your own time zone, and converts a date and time to a timestamp in seconds and milliseconds. Numbers of 13 digits or more are read as milliseconds.
How to use it
- Enter a timestamp to see the date.
- Or pick a date and time to see its timestamp.
- Copy the result.
Did you know?
- Systems that store the time as a 32-bit signed number run out on 19 January 2038, which is known as the Year 2038 problem.
- JavaScript and Java use milliseconds, while many Unix tools use seconds.
