What is XML Formatter?
XML is a text format for structured data. Machine-written XML often arrives on a single line, which is hard to read until it is formatted.
What this tool does
Reads the tags in your XML, checks that opening and closing tags match, and then writes it with two space indents or on one line. Short elements such as <name>Ann</name> stay on one line.
How to use it
- Choose format or minify.
- Paste your XML.
- Copy the result, or fix the tag the error message points to.
Did you know?
- XML was published as a W3C recommendation in 1998.
- This tool checks that tags match but does not validate against a schema.
