What is SQL Formatter?
Long SQL queries are hard to read when they are on one line. A formatter puts each part of the query on its own line so you can see its structure.
What this tool does
Starts new lines at clauses such as SELECT, FROM, WHERE and ORDER BY, indents AND, OR and column lists, and writes keywords in capitals. Strings and quoted names are never changed. Minify mode removes comments and extra spaces.
How to use it
- Choose format or minify.
- Paste your query.
- Copy the result.
Did you know?
- SQL stands for Structured Query Language and was developed at IBM in the 1970s.
- This formatter works for common SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE statements; very unusual syntax may need hand tidying.
