What is IP Subnet Calculator?
A subnet is a block of IP addresses on a network. CIDR notation, such as 192.168.1.0/24, gives the starting address and how many leading bits belong to the network.
Network engineers and developers use it to plan address ranges and write firewall rules.
What this tool does
Takes an IPv4 address with a prefix length and shows the network address, broadcast address, subnet mask, wildcard mask, first and last usable host, the number of hosts and the mask in binary. A second part shows any IPv4 address as an integer, hex and binary.
How to use it
- Type an address with a prefix, such as 192.168.1.10/24.
- Read the network details.
- Use the second part to convert an address to other forms.
Did you know?
- A /24 network has 256 addresses, of which 254 can be given to devices.
