What is Break-Even Calculator?

The break-even point is where your income equals your costs, so you make neither a profit nor a loss. Every sale after that point is profit.

What this tool does

Divides your fixed costs by the profit you make on each unit (price minus variable cost), and rounds up to whole units. It shows the number of units, the sales value, the profit per unit and the contribution margin.

How to use it

  1. Enter your fixed costs, such as rent and salaries.
  2. Enter the selling price and the variable cost per unit.
  3. Read how many units you must sell.

Did you know?

  • Fixed costs do not change with sales volume. Variable costs, such as materials, grow with each unit sold.
  • If the price is not higher than the variable cost, there is no break-even point.
