About metres and centimetres
The metre (m) is the base unit of length in the metric (SI) system. Almost every other metric length unit is a multiple or a fraction of it.
A centimetre (cm) is one hundredth of a metre. It is the everyday unit for body height, clothing sizes and small objects.
