About inches and metres
An inch (in) is an imperial and US unit of length. There are 12 inches in a foot, and one inch is exactly 2.54 centimetres.
The metre (m) is the base unit of length in the metric (SI) system. Almost every other metric length unit is a multiple or a fraction of it.
